Editorial policy

How cybersecurity.guru reports: sourcing, attack detail, corrections, the use of AI tools, sponsored content and how to reach the editors.

What we cover

cybersecurity.guru is an English-language publication for security engineers and CISOs. Every piece answers one question: what should a company do? We cover defense against attacks by people and by AI agents, breakdowns of real incidents, and the procedures for handling data that prevent, contain and disclose incidents correctly.

Sources

Numbers, dates, attribution, quotes, regulatory requirements and claims about named companies link to a primary source: the affected company, the regulator, the court filing or the researchers who did the work. Our own analysis is labeled as analysis. Each article lists its sources at the end.

Values that change over time, such as standard versions, deadlines and prices, are kept in a registry and re-checked against their sources. Each article shows the date its facts were last checked.

Attack detail

Breakdowns explain techniques, the chain of steps, the vulnerable configuration, the root cause and the indicators, because defenders need them. We do not publish working exploit code, ready payloads or step-by-step instructions against systems that are still unpatched.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to monitor sources, research and draft. They never publish. An editor reviews and approves every article before it goes out. During live coverage, entries are queued for the editor, who can stop or change any of them before it appears.

We do not invent people: no fictional authors, no made-up expert quotes and no composite sources.

Corrections and updates

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. A correction or a material update is dated and described in the article's change log, under its sources. We do not quietly rewrite what a reader may already have relied on.

To report an error, write to contact@cybersecurity.guru with the article link and what is wrong.

Advertising and independence

Anything paid for carries a Sponsored label, on the page and in every listing. Advertisers and partners cannot buy, preview or change editorial coverage, and reviews are never sold.
